Partnership Working to Implement the COPD Strategy at a Local Level

The Department of Health and NHS Improvement are working in partnership
with AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Quintiles to support
implementation of the COPD strategy.
A series of workshops will be held, led by the recently appointed SHA Respiratory Leads, and supported by a range of stakeholders including the British Lung Foundation, Asthma UK and a number of professional groups. There will be 20 workshops across England to support healthcare professionals in updating attendees on the COPD Strategy, identifying good practice and potential opportunities for joint working.

The events will run between September and November 2010. Speakers will include
• From the DH (depending on location) either one of the joint National Clinical Directors - Dr Robert Winter or Professor Sue Hill, or the Head of Respiratory Programme - Kevin Holton
• A representative from the NHS Lung Improvement team
• One of the SHA Respiratory Leads

There will be poster displays setting out examples of good practice in the management of COPD and asthma and workshops to illustrate the benefits of joint working with stakeholders.
The events are free and spaces will be very limited. Please register your interest in attending.
